On-Campus Housing

At Durham College, it offers the best of both worlds when it comes to residence – all the comforts of home in a unique campus community experience.

The  residences offer convenience, great friendships and the chance to connect with all that campus life has to offer. The Simcoe Village and South Village residences offer safe, clean, and comfortable living accommodations for 1,360 students. First-year students are guaranteed a spot in residence if they meet the deadlines for accepting Durham College’s offer of admission and applying to residence. Students enrolled in January-start programs may apply to residence and will be approved based on room availability.

The  residences offer a number of different room options.

Meal Plans

Students living in South Village Residence must purchase one of the six available mandatory dining plans. Students living in Simcoe Village can purchase either a mandatory or voluntary dining plan.

Apartment-style Residences

Owned and managed by London Properties Corporation, these new units were designed to offer students in their upper years of study the independence of apartment living while residing on campus. Each 27-unit building can house a total of 108 students.

If you are planning to live off campus, please be aware that the City of Oshawa introduced a bylaw in 2008 that requires the licensing of residential homes that are used for rental purposes within a specific catchment area (view map here) [PDF – 199 KB].

SCHOLARSHIPS

International students commencing programs  at Durham College will be eligible for a variety of scholarships that can help offset the cost of your studies. The awards are open only to new full-time International Students.

Scholarships are awarded to international students that meet the following criteria:

Students must:

Submit their application for admission and pay their fees by the deadline indicated on their offer letter.

Arrive in Canada and remain enrolled at Durham College past the 10th day of the semester.

• CAD 1500 scholarships on IELTS 8.0 or above with minimum 5.5/ 6.0 in all skills

• CAD 1000 scholarships on IELTS 7.5 or above with minimum 5.5/ 6.0 in all skills

• CAD 500 scholarships on IELTS 7.0 or above with minimum 5.5/ 6.0 in all skills
